To enable safe and trustworthy academic gig matchmaking, GigWire gathers information when you register, post tasks, apply for assignments, or communicate through the app. This includes:

  • Profile Verification: Name, phone number, email address, profile picture. For students, this extends to Pateros Technological College (PTC) official IDs, enrollment cards, and face photos for manual admin approval.
  • Location Data: Dynamic location coordinates (latitude and longitude) to pin tasks on the active map view, enabling neighborhood task routing.
  • Transaction & Escrow Data: Payment screenshot uploads (GCash receipts), wallet ledger inputs, cash-out logs, and total earnings.
  • App Interactions: In-app chat messaging transcripts, task approval inputs, and user feedback ratings.

We process your data exclusively for operational, security, and administrative service improvement purposes, including:

  • Validating student academic eligibility through secure admin verification.
  • Publishing active gig pins on the localized map to coordinate student helper pickups.
  • Facilitating secure peer-to-peer chat communication for task requirements.
  • Auditing wallet points and GCash transaction payouts to mitigate fraud and ensure compliance.
  • Notifying users regarding task status changes, chat updates, or emergency notifications.

share 3. How We Share Information

Your details are shared strictly to coordinate task executions. We never sell user data. Sharing rules are outlined below:

  • Between Users: Once a student applies for a gig, their profile name, rating, and message history become visible to the Gig Poster. When hired, coordinates and phone details sync to complete the chore.
  • For Safety: Data may be shared with educational administrative boards or legal offices if community guidelines, local safety regulations, or RLS-protected fields are breached.
  • With Platform Administrators: Designated administrators review all uploaded credentials, wallet requests, and transaction ledgers to maintain safety and process GCash payouts.

We protect platform databases using industry-standard backend security controls:

  • Row Level Security (RLS): The Postgres database enforces strict RLS policies. Students can only select their own job history and withdrawals, and poster profiles can only be edited by their respective owners.
  • Encryption: Critical session identification credentials and database queries are transmitted using encrypted HTTPS protocols.
  • Account Auditing: Administrators track logins, verification updates, and payout ledgers to isolate malicious attempts.

Depending on local regulations, you have several choices regarding the personal data you save on the platform:

  • Access & Edit: You can review and update your name, profile photo, and bio inside the profile management dashboards at any time.
  • Data Deletion: You can request complete termination and erasure of your user profile and active gig mappings by contacting admin support.
  • Location Opt-out: Location services can be toggled off directly inside your mobile device settings, although this will limit the map coordinate features.
